{The 22nd day of January, 2012}

Photography
I know this isn't much of a photo update, but I just had to post something of the photography nature. I had so much inspiration to actually take pictures, but the day I went out to do it, I didn't have very many tangible ideas. I should probably make a list when I do think of things. I'm going to try my hardest to get other people in front of my lens. But for now, this is how it shall be. :)

You can't always wait for the perfect time. Sometimes, you have dare to do it because life's too short to wonder what could have been.

No one falls in love by choice, it's by chance. No one stays in love by chance, it's by work. No one falls out of love by chance, it's by choice.

There's no doubt in my mind that I am in love with you. Everything about you makes me smile. When you hold my hand, I never want to let go. When you're sad, I would do anything in my power to make it better. You mean so much to me that it hurts. I would give anything to be with you every second of every day.

If you think you're cooler than me, doesn't that make me hotter than you?

You are my sugar rush, my cocaine bliss,
my illegal high, my perfect kiss,
You're addiction that I always fail to resist.

Dear haters, I couldn't help but notice that awesome ends with me and ugly starts with u.

Too many funerals, not enough graduations. Too many baby showers, not enough weddings.

It's sweet when a guy realizes he hurt your feelings, so he does everything he possibly can to cheer you up.

And I was just playing around with the camera, stumbled upon this, and felt like posting it. :)

Sisterly Love
Here's to boredom. Here's to my sister always being there through that. Here's to our endless laughter. Here's to our inside jokes. Here's to the blaring radio in the background. Here's to our out of tune voices much much louder in the foreground. Here's to one of the coolest chicks I know. Here's to one of my best friends in the world. Here's to boredom not being so boring after all. I love you, April. :)

Say hello to April. ("hey april!")

"...rock this world, read my lips and watch them curl, rock this world!"

I think this was April's "wuddup, bro?" face...

Her smile is so cute in this one :)

I. Said. Kissyface. See? Like dis.

This one's my favorite.

Framed Handprints
I saw this idea on Pinterest and immediately fell in love with it. Therefore, at Christmas time I figured it'd be the perfect gift for my dad. It was so simple, self explanatory, and didn't take long at all to make! And who doesn't love simplicity, right? :D

1. Iron-on interfacing
2. Picture frame (this one ended up being too small, so I finished with a different one)
3. Fabric-cutting scissors/X-acto knife
4. Fabric for each handprint + solid background fabric
Not pictured: sewing machine + pins

Trace each "opposite" handprint on the smooth side of the interfacing. For example, if you want all right hands to be in the frame, trace all left hands. Once it's ironed on, the opposite hand traced will be framed. I labeled whose hand was whose just in case. Only two handprints are pictured here, but I really had four.

Place fabric face down and place the rough side of the interfacing on top of it. Iron these together, no steam. The interfacing handprint should immediately stick to the fabric. Repeat with all handprints.

Cut out each now interfaced handprint and they should look something like this. :)

Now take the background fabric and trace the size of your frame on to it in pencil. I took my picture frame's example insert image and traced it for accurate measurements. It worked perfectly. Make sure to choose a background that won't clash with the variety of "handprinted" fabrics. Since most of mine had such dark colors in them, it was the best choice for me to go with white.

Cut out your background fabric. Place the handprints to your liking and pin them down. Everywhere. It works best if each finger of each hand is pinned so they don't move as much. Now, be careful that the pins don't cause your fabric to gather up in places. Once pinned, smooth out each hand to avoid in wrinkles in the fabric.

Now we sew each hand, getting as close to the edge as possible, and remove the pins! Snip off any excess frayed fabric, too.

Frame it and here's our masterpiece!

Happy New Year's!
Ooh, I'm a bit late on this post, but I guess it's better late than never, right? So Happy New Year's! I hope 2012 is beneficial to you and is filled with surprises. And I hope we all don't die this year. Haha. I'm kind of kicking myself right now for not making a resolution this year. I do every year, but I didn't really give one any thought this time around. What are you're resolutions this year? Any new ways of life in mind? If so, I'd love to know :) Just like almost every other family in the world, my family and I popped fireworks late into the night this passed New Year's. I never get tired of staying up late and watching the colorful sparks fall from the sky, immediately along with the continuous popping noise. This year I got some pretty great pictures (since my new camera actually participates in the dark now) and cannot wait to share them! So here they are and, once again, I hope the new year treats you well!

it says "love"!

{The 2nd day of January, 2012}

Photography
I have been obsessing over my new Canon. I'm serious...I was having separation issues with it while I couldn't hold its beautiful, sleek design oh so carefully in my hands. Um...okay, I'll stop subjecting you to my disorder. My point is this is my first photography update with my new camera, and although I'm still learning and very much a beginner with my DSLR, I'm excited to show what I've conjured up and would love feedback. I do want to apologize for the lack of photography in the site, however. With the holidays happening so fast and my being at work all the time, I haven't had any chances to really take time with just me and my camera. Not to mention, I had soooooo many crafts (and plenty more coming) to work on for Christmas. I'm sorta kinda very proud of this update, so I hope it's pleasing to your eyes and happy looking! :D

There's not a star in the sky tonight. I guess I'm all out of wishes.

I promised myself I wouldn’t let this happen again. I promised myself I wouldn’t let you back in. But I did. And it was different this time, truly different. You had changed, and it’s like we were one person. But something happened, and now you’re just the old you I promised myself I’d stay away from. And I think that “you” is here to stay. Unlike me.

The realization that you won't be there for everything hasn't hit me yet, but I know it won't be long before it does. I just sit here, awaiting it's presence to consume my every thought. I'm awaiting the feeling of loneliness, of having no one truly understand me like you did. The anticipation of the pain to come hurts just as bad as the pain itself.

^^Don't these look yummy? :)^^

"...I'm trying to forget that
I'm addicted to you
But I want it and I need it
I'm addicted to you
Now it's over, can't forget what you said
And I never want to do this again
Heartbreaker..."

I've stopped caring about my looks. The more you care in life, the more you have to lose. It's so much easier to not care if I'm pretty, than hope I am and be disappointed every time I look in the mirror.

Here's to the strong; thanks to the brave. Don't give up hope, some people change. Against all odds, against the grain, love finds a way, some people change.

We become attached to what's familiar, and sometimes we hold onto things that are safe and predictable, even if they are bad for us.

You want to know the truth? I'm just trying to make it through the day with enough energy to face tomorrow.

When you're sober, you think twice before you speak. When you're drunk, you speak twice before you think.

Remember the past, plan for the future, but live for today, because yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come.

As soon as I accept that you're gone, your back. So do me a favor and keep walking the other way.

Failure isn't falling down, it's remaining where you've fallen

For jerks with girlfriends:
While you're ignoring her, another guy is giving her attention. While you're giving her problems, another guy is listening. While you're too bust for her, another guy is making time for her. While you're making her cty, another guy is trying to make her smile again. When you're not sure if you still want her, another guy has already figured it out.

Remember all those I love you more fights? Well, it looks like I won...

Stop falling. Stop listening. Stop texting back. Stop worrying. Stop getting your hopes up. Stop telling yourself that this one is different. You've heard thise story time and time again. You know how it ends. He's playing the game that you keep losing.

Face your problems, not Facebook them.

If you spend your friday night posting statuses about how hard you're partying, you're not parting that hard. Just goes to show that all you want to do is show everyone how "cool" you think you are.

I wanna write "I miss you" on a rock and throw it at your face so you know how much it hurts to miss you.

Uh, excuse me, Mr. Swagger, Either walk a little faster or buy a belt. Thanks, homie.

P.S. New Year's update coming very soon, I promise! Until then, Happy New Year!
